Entertainment One Picks Up The Day From
Content For UK France Scandinavia & South Africa

Content have announced that Entertainment One has picked up the rights in the UK, France, Scandinavia and South Africa to the post-apocalyptic war action/thriller feature The Day, directed by Doug Aarniokoski, written by Luke Passmore, produced by Guy A. Danella, and executive produced by Aarniokoski, Michael Finley, Tim James, Antonina Armato and Ross M. Dinerstein.
The Day stars Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Michael Eklund, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan, and Shannyn Sossamon. The film was also bought by Japan's Nettai Museum, and as previously announced, Splendid has picked up the German speaking Europe and Benelux rights.
Content is representing international rights and Kevin Iwashina of Preferred Content is handling North American rights. The film has its market premiere screening this week at the AFM.

Apartment 1303 3D Currently Shooting In Montreal
Specialized 3D Crew Brought In From Hong Kong

Image Works Entertainment headed by President David Shoshan in association with Monte Cristo International has acquired worldwide rights to the Japanese remake Apartment 1303 3D. The film, which is currently in production in Canada, stars Mischa Barton, Rebecca De Mornay, and Julianne Michelle.
Helmed by Swedish director Daniel Fridell, Apartment 1303 3D is based on the hit Japanese horror film of the same name. This modern day ghost story turns a love-hate relationship between mother and daughter into a tale of horror.
Remakes of Asian horror films such as The Grudge and The Ring have collectively grossed over $230 million dollars worldwide. Taking advantage of the current trend and the appetite for 3D films from the public, Shosan said, "A specialized 3D film crew is being brought in from Hong Kong. The fact that we are shooting in 3D, audiences across the world will have a real total experience of the senses when it comes to this film."

Kaleidoscope Premieres Elfie Hopkins
& Attends AFM With Expanded Slate

Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (KFD) has available for Buyers at AFM, Elfie Hopkins, which premieres for the first time at a market. Its lineup includes Interview With A Hitman, and Strippers Vs Werewolves. Selected footage of The Man Inside is also available, with continuing sales on William & Kate: The First Anniversary Celebration, which launched at MIPCOM.

Sales continue on Mercenaries, already picked up by Grindstone for North America and Ascot Elite for Germany, Voxell for CIS and Mediasoft for South Korea, with further sales in Thailand, Indonesia and the Middle East.

The SC Group helmed by David Jackson and Shauna Shapiro Jackson premiere to the international marketplace at AFM the comedy You May Not Kiss the Bride starring Katharine McPhee, Dave Annable, Rob Schneider, Mena Suvari, Academy Award Winner Kathy Tia Carrere, Kevin Dunn, and Vinnie Jones.
You May Kiss The Bride is written and directed by Rob Hedden (Friday 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan) other behind the camera talent includes director of photography Russ T. Alsobrook (Paul Bart: Mall Cop), costume designer Bob Moore, Jr. (Spider-Man 2 & 3), and production designer Scott Meehan (Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

Fabrication Hits Five
Los Angeles based Fabrication Films has picked up international distribution rights for five films at the American Film Market. The company picked up theatrical World War II Epic Lidice starring Karl Roden, 6 Degrees starring Corbin Bernson, sci-fi adventure Jules Verne's Mysterious Island, and Money Kills. Fabrication Films Senior Vice President Miriam Elchanan and Director of Acquisitions William Barrantes negotiated the acquisitions.

Entertainment One Gains Two-Year Levity Deal
Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into a two-year television development and distribution deal with Levity Entertainment Group (Levity).
Under the agreement, eOne will develop and produce half-hour scripted original content with A-list comedy artists and writers from the Levity Entertainment Group's catalog which includes Jim Breuer, Pablo Francisco, Hal Sparks, and Maz Jobrani, among others. Additionally, during the two-year term, Levity will provide eOne with eight to ten titles per year for distribution in all Home Video platforms as well as Audio platforms.
"This first look deal offers a major opportunity for us to continue our growth in the comedy and non-scripted arena by producing and developing original content with Levity. They are a powerhouse in this area and we're thrilled to be in business with them," commented Noreen Halpern, President Dramatic Programming, eOne Television.
"Levity has been the leading provider of comedy and we're confident that in bringing them on as a studio partner we will not only increase eOne's distribution in multiple platforms but elevate our comedy programming," said, Allen Blackwell, VP of Urban Film and Comedy Programming at eOne.
