Elspeth Tavares and Frans Afman
|
Frans Afman (1933-2011). Those of us who knew Frans well knew he was a mensch. Like Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. What he did for the independent film business is incalculable. It was touching to learn that Yoram and Menahem flew to see Frans before he passed. I will never forget his support and encouragement for the 'independent' route that The Business of Film has taken. In that lovely voice of his he would say, "Elspeth, I read your story on so and so. It was a good story." Frans Afman, a giant in the world of independent film, will be sadly missed.
