With a consortium of French and European investors David Grumbach who created Juliette Films (Luxembourg), Jaya Productions (France) and a partner in Frakas Productions (Belgium), is the new owner of BAC Films Distribution (BAC), which for over 25 years has been one of France's leading independent film companies.

Until the beginning of the last quarter of 2013, BAC was a subsidiary of BAC MAJESTIC, a publicly traded company on the Euronext Paris exchange. The recently concluded deal was announced by the Autorie des Marches Financiers AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers), the regulatory agency for the French financial market.

Grumbach takes the role of CEO at BAC and Eric Chinchon, Co-owner and a specialist in business structuring and financing, will act as CFO. Mathieu Robinet, will continue as managing director of BAC, and oversee all of BAC's core activities (acquisition, theatrical, TV, DVD and VOD distribution, international sales and production). BAC's current distribution and sales teams will remain in place.

David Grumbach, active as a film producer and financier since 1999, has produced and co-produced more than 25 films (features, animation and documentaries), notably Ari Folman's The Congress, Frédéric Jardin's Sleepless Night and Sylvie Testud's Another Woman's Life,

Steering the company in the direction of a full service European mini-major capable of intervening in the entire process of a film's creation, Grumbach intends to grow the company and board international projects at an earlier stage to ensure a strong presence throughout the stages of development, financing, production and distribution.

David Grimbach intends to maintain the same proactive, cooperative approach that has worked for him as a producer as BAC Films increases the scope of its activities, and he is enthusiastic about combining BAC's team expertise with his experience in international production and financing. BAC brings its current slate to the American Film Market and are located in Office 435 Loews Hotel.

About BAC
BAC is the iconic French distribution label founded in 1986. The group has distributed over 500 films in France, including 8 winners of Cannes' Palme d'Or. In 2000, BAC became a publicly traded company (Bac Majestic) with European animation powerhouse Millimages becoming the majority stockowner in 2003. Under the terms of today's deal, the BAC Majestic group entirely cedes BAC Films Distribution, the BAC brands and the exclusive right to sell the BAC back catalog. BAC's sales department was founded in 2002 and is currently steered by Gilles Sousa, who has overseen the department's recent growth since taking over in 2011.
