Jonathan Kier Promoted To President
Of Sales & Distribution Sierra/Affinity

Jonathan Kier - President of Sales & Distribution, Sierra/Affinity

As AFM gets underway, international buyers to the Sierra/Affinity office will be continuing business deals with Jonathan Kier, recently promoted to President of Sales and Distribution from the position of Executive Vice President of Sales. Kier continues to work in conjunction with Sierra/Affinity principals Nick Meyer, Marc Schaberg and Marc Butan in selling international rights to the company's slate of third-party films; as well as acting as the exclusive sales agent for films developed and produced by OddLot Entertainment, Bold Films, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, Focus Features and Sierra Pictures and its partner, Incentive Filmed Entertainment.

Meyer and Schaberg commented: "Over the last three plus years, Jonathan's contributions have been invaluable to Sierra/Affinity, as we've greatly expanded our business, his knowledge and passion for movies, the international film industry, combined with his sales acumen, make him the perfect executive to lead us through our next wave of growth."

Kier added: "The leadership at Sierra/Affinity have built a terrific company, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to expand the Sierra/Affinity global brand."

Kier joined Sierra/Affinity in 2011, departing The Weinstein Company (TWC) where he served as Senior Vice President of International Sales and Distribution, responsible for overseeing all aspects of TWC and Dimension releases in over 50 countries, from the initial local theatrical release, thru the home video, television and digital platforms. Additionally, he handled foreign sales on TWC and Dimension titles at all the major annual film markets. Since the formation TWC in 2005, Kier has worked on over 80 films including The King's Speech, Hoodwinked, TMNT, The Reader, Nine, 1408 and Piranha 3D.

Prior to starting his tenure with TWC in 2005, Kier worked in Affiliate Sales Strategy at MTV Networks, analyzing all of the domestic cable and satellite carriage deals for over 30 channels ranging from Comedy Central to Nickelodeon to MTV and VH1. Before MTV Networks, Kier worked in Production and Development at Universal-based Marc Platt Productions, on such films as Legally Blonde.

Kier earned a BFA in Film from the Tisch School of the Arts and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business, both at NYU.
