Mercury Plains With Carnaby International

Tania Sarra

Prior to its world premiere during AFM Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired the North American distribution rights to the action-thriller Mercury Plains, starring Scott Eastwood (Fury, The Longest Ride, Suicide Squad), with distribution to be handled by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Carnaby International's Director of International Sales, Tania Sarra, struck the deal with Grindstone's Head of Acquisitions, Stan Wertlieb. "Thematically, Mercury Plains is incredibly current in light of the criminal drug cartels activities in Mexico and the United States. Scott Eastwood continues to shine as a real star on the rise," said Stan Wertlieb, Grindstone's Head of Acquisitions. Tania Sarra, Director of International Sales, Carnaby Sales & Distribution said: "I'm enormously proud to be working alongside such a talented team on this picture. The hard hitting and compelling storylines have a universal appeal which will resonate with audiences around the world. We're excited to premiere Mercury Plains at AFM."

London-based Carnaby International, first screened extended promo footage from Mercury Plains to buyers at Toronto. Starring Scott Eastwood (Fury, The Longest Ride, Suicide Squad), Nick Chinlund (Con Air, Training Day, The Chronicles of Riddick) and Angela Sarafyan (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, The Immigrant, Paranoia), Mercury Plains sees a young man run away to Mexico where he is recruited by the captain of a parliamentary group of teens who fight drug cartels. With delivery expected for Q1 2016, the film is directed and written by Charles Burmeister and produced by Houston Hill and Eric Watson.
