Benoît Jacquot's Les Adieux à la Reine Opens The Berlinale

Les Adieux à la Reine
The 62nd Berlin International Film Festival opens at the Berlinale Palast tonight (February 9) with the world premiere of the period drama Les Adieux à la Reine (Farewell My Queen) starring international stars Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds), Léa Seydoux (Midnight in Paris) and Virginie Ledoyen (Army of Crime). French Director Benoît Jacquot (Tosca, Villa Amalia, Deep in the Woods) portrays the first days of the French Revolution from the perspective of the servants at Versailles. An historical drama with overtones that also draws parallels to the present, Les Adieux à la Reine is a screen adaptation of Chantal Thomas' prize-winning novel of the same name. The French-Spanish co-production Les Adieux à la Reine participates in the competition of the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.
