LevelK Secures North American Deal For
Wish You Were Here To Entertainment One

Wish You Were Here

Denmark based LevelK ApS, the independent sales company headed by Tine Klint Managing Director handling international sales on Wish You Were Here, attends EFM with the recent sale of the North American distribution rights to Kieran Darcy-Smith's directorial debut Wish You Were Here to Entertainment One (eOne).

Starring Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby), Felicity Price (Florence), and Teresa Palmer (I am Number 4), Wish You Were Here was written by Darcy-Smith and Price. The film screened the opening night in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance. Wish You Were Here is a psychological thriller that follows four friends who lose themselves in the fun of a carefree South East Asian holiday. Only three return home.

The Australian movie was produced by Angie Fielder of Sydney based production company Aquarius Films and made in association with the indie directors' collective Blue-Tongue Films (Animal Kingdom). Wish You Were here is a Screen Australia presentation in association with Screen New South Wales, Fulcrum Media Finance, LevelK and Hopscotch.

Dylan Wiley, VP, Theatrical Marketing and Distribution eOne FilmsUS said, "eOne is thrilled to bring this film to North American theatres. Joel Edgerton and the rest of the cast are captivating, and the movie will leave audiences on the edge of their seats until its very last moment." In August 2011, Entertainment One announced an expansion of its North American operations and an increasing focus and commitment to theatrical distribution in the US. "We're delighted to add this outstanding thriller to our growing slate. This was the first film I screened at Sundance and it was love at first sight," added David Reckziegel, President, eOne Films North America.

The deal covers rights in all media and was brokered by Sejin Park, eOne's VP, Worldwide Acquisitions and Natja Noviani Rosner, LevelK's Sales Director during the Sundance Film Festival.

Commenting on the sale first time director Darcy-Smith said, "This has truly been extraordinary, the sale to eOne really does cap the entire experience. It is twelve months to the day since we wrapped filming, and the movie has sold to the US and Canada. Felicity and I are thrilled beyond words and we're simply looking forward now to getting the film in front of as many people as we possibly can." Producer Angie Fielder from Aquarius Films added: "The eOne sale tops off what has been a fantastic experience at Sundance for the Wish You Were Here team. The film generated buzz amongst festival goers and screened to packed cinemas. We would like the film to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, and we are very excited to be working with eOne to bring Wish You Were Here to audiences all across the US and Canada."

The film will be released in Australia and New Zealand by eOne's Australian group Hopscotch in 2012.
