Global Screen Continues Sales On The Green
Prince Audience Award Winner At Sundance
Julia Weber, Alice Buquoy & Klaus Rasmussen

Feature Documentaries, particularly in the last decade, have continued to garner and secure a growing worldwide market. During the European Film Market, Munich-based Global Screen is handling sales on The Green Prince, winner of the Audience Award at Sundance. The gripping documentary was the Opening Film of the World Cinema Documentary Competition section and throughout the festival received standing ovations from the audiences.

The real life thriller tells the story of one of Israel's prized intelligence sources, the son of a top Hamas leader. Under the code name "The Green Prince," he was recruited to spy on his own people for over a decade. Focusing on his complex relationship with his handler, the feature documentary is a gripping account of terror, betrayal, impossible choices - and of a friendship that defies all boundaries.

Director Nadav Schirman said, "It was a privilege to open the festival with The Green Prince and to complete it with such an important prize. The audiences were touched and inspired by this story of two enemies that dared follow their moral compass, had the courage to trust one another, and ultimately became brothers."

The Green Prince is directed by Nadav Schirman, and produced by Nadav Schirman, Oscar-winning producers Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) and John Battsek (One Day in September).

The German-Israeli-UK co-production was produced by A-List Films GmbH in co-production with Telepool GmbH and London-based Passion Pictures and Red Box Films.

The Green Prince has been sold to UK (Curzon) and Australia/New Zealand (Madman Entertainment). During EFM The Green Prince has two market screenings.
