Opening Film Berlinale 2015 - Nobody Wants The Night

Nobody Wants The Night - ESP/FRA/BGR 2014. Director: Isabel Coixet - Juliette Binoche, Rinko Kikuchi - ©Leandro Betancor - The 65th Berlin International Film Festival opens tonight with the world premiere in Competition of Nobody Wants the Night, the most recent work by Spanish director Isabel Coixet, shot in Bulgaria, Norway and Spain. The international ensemble cast includes Juliette Binoche, Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi and Gabriel Byrne. The Spanish-French-Bulgarian co-production takes place in 1908, in the Arctic seclusion of Greenland. The film focuses on courageous women and ambitious men who put anything at stake for love and glory. In choosing the film to open the 65th Berlinale, Dieter Kosslick said: "Isabel Coixet has created an impressive and perceptive portrait of two women in extreme circumstances." Nobody Wants the Night is the first film to be screened in Dolby AtmosR in the Berlinale Palast.
