Evolutionary Films Launches With Legacy Which
Has Secured A Multi-Territory Deal With Universal

John Adams - Alistair Audsley - Diane Shorthouse
London-based finance and production company Evolutionary Films launches at EFM with a library of completed and development titles for international sales.

Key amongst the company's offering to buyers are the edgy, teen comedy Legacy produced by BAFTA winner Noel Clarke which has already secured a multi-territory release with Universal Pictures across much of the world (excluding North America) scheduled for April; and the definitive history of the Liverpool music scene from the post war years to the present day, setting The Beatles in context, in the vibrant feature length documentary Get Back which will be released in the UK in May.

The company is headed by John Adams, formerly of Raw and Phoenix Worldwide Entertainment, and Ross Boyask who has numerous years experience in international sales attend EFM, joined by marketing director Alistair Audsley and head of production Diane Shorthouse, who is seeking future co-production opportunities.

John Adams said: "At Evolutionary Films we aim to offer investors a more business-like way of approaching film investment; and producers a more transparent and effective way to get their product to its audience. Because we are putting in place the infrastructure to sell our own films internationally and to point of sale in our domestic territory, we are able to offer third-party producers the type of representation we as filmmakers ourselves have always dreamed about having."

The company's library of completed titles also includes the quirky comedy The Magnificent Eleven co-written by Trainspotting and Filth author Irvine Welsh and starring Hollywood legend Robert Vaughn and Sean Pertwee of Gotham; and the multi-award winning dark, psychological thriller The Paddy Lincoln Gang set in the underbelly of the Los Angeles music scene.

Evolutionary Films is backed by private equity and has set out to produce three films over the next two years with its focus on delivering quality, commercial genre titles. Amongst the development slate at the company are the action horror AUX and the musical feature franchise Diva which is set to be executive produced by former Universal Pictures MD, Johnny Fewings.

The company has already established a working relationship with an existing distributor to release its own product direct to retailers and VoD for home entertainment releases in the UK territory.
