Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), a premier next generation global content leader, launches international sales at EFM on Hotel Artemis, acclaimed writer Drew Pearce's directorial debut from his own script. London and Los Angles based Ink Factory financed and produced the action thriller starring Academy Award winner Jodie Foster.
Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group Chairman Patrick Wachsberger and International COO Andrew Kramer said: "We strive to populate Lionsgate's international slate with high quality films from top talent that will work for a worldwide audience. Hotel Artemis accomplishes all of that with Oscar winning actress Jodie Foster, the extremely talented Drew Pearce and our friends and partners Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Simon and Stephen Cornwell. We are especially delighted to be part of Drew's debut as a director and to be re-teaming with the brilliant Marc Platt after our successful collaboration on La La Land."
The Ink Factory's Stephen Cornwell added: "Drew has written a truly captivating script, creating a dynamic and compelling story with fantastic characters. We're delighted to be taking this project forward into production and could not be more thrilled to be working with Drew, the amazing Jodie Foster, and the wonderful cast that is coming together around her. It is going to be an exciting journey working with Lionsgate as our sales partner, as well as the unequalled Marc Platt and Adam Siegel as our fellow producers."
Best Picture Academy Award nominee Marc Platt will produce alongside Adam Siegel and The Ink Factory's Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell.
Wachsberger, Kramer and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group EVP's of International Sales Wendy Reeds and Crystal Bourbeau, both based in the Company's London office, will lead the Lionsgate team at Berlin. Lionsgate's 2017 EFM roster also includes Participant Media's Entebbe and Captive State.
WME Global is handling US rights.
Lionsgate's current release slate includes the multiple award-wining film La La Land, which has already passed $200 million early in its release at the global box office; Mel Gibson's war drama Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield, Vince Vaughn and Sam Worthington; John Wick: Chapter 2, starring Keanu Reeves; and Saban's Power Rangers, based on one of the most widely recognized brands in the world.
Lionsgate and Summit label films have grossed nearly $10 billion at the global box office over the past five years.
