Picture Tree Blooms At EFM 2017
With An Impressive Diverse Line-Up

Tiger Girl - Screening Panorama Special Fri Feb 10th – 19:00 Zooplast 1

Based in Berlin, Picture Tree International (PTI) the sales and distribution company headed by Andreas Rothbauer now in its fourth year has a diverse lineup of films at the European Film Market (EFM).

One of the major highlights in its lineup is the acquisition of the international rights to Jakob Lass' feature Tiger Girl, which has its world premiere in the Panorama Special and is set for an April release through Constantin Film Verleih.

The continuing collaboration with Constantin follows the success of Constantin's Fack Ju Göthe 1 and 2 – which saw each installment grossing more than 70 million USD domestically, and sold to more than 40 territories.

The company just prior to the EFM acquired the hugely successful family comedy Welcome to Germany, Germany's most successful hit in 2016, which has generated more than 3.5 mio. admissions to date. Welcome to Germany stars Shooting Star Elyas M'Barek, Florian David Fitz and Austrian legend Senta Berger. The film centres around the highly charged topic of immigration and is directed by Simon Verhoeven whose credits include the German franchise Men in the City (Männerherzen), and the English-language stalker thriller Unfriend Friend Request distributed by Warner Bros in the UK in 2016.

Welcome To Germany

Welcome to Germany is produced by Wiedemann & Berg, producers of Academy Award winner The Lives of Others (2005). The company has continuously produced box office hits such as Men in the City (2009), Who am I (2014), Unfriend (2015) and Joy of Fatherhood (2013).

Currently in production and continuing its cooperation with Pantaleon Films, PTI launches the 12 Mio Euro budgeted action comedy Hot Dog, which stars Til Schweiger and Matthias Schweighöfer. Hot Dog is a Pantaleon Films, coproduction with Til Schweiger's Barefoot Films, Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany and Erfttal Film- & Fernsehproduktion. Funding has been granted by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and FFF.

Other upcoming titles for the international marketplace include The Confession by Academy Award nominee Zaza Urushadze and French-English road movie Links of Life directed and written by Marie-Helen Roux.
