For the 20th edition of European Shooting Stars, the renowned British actor Timothy Spall, who received a European Film Award for Mr. Turner in 2014, will host the award ceremony for the ten up-and-coming young actors on the main stage of the Berlinale Palast on February 13. Following this weekend full of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities with industry professionals, each European Shooting Star will receive an award in recognition of their outstanding artistic achievements. Following the ceremony, Timothy Spall's new film The Party by Sally Potter will screen as part of the Berlinale's Competition. Over the last twenty years, European Film Promotion presented 283 of the most promising young European actors, many of whom went on to become international stars. This programme is made possible thanks to major backing from the Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme, the support of the respective EFP members and our loyal partners. Since 2009, European Shooting Stars has being supported by Tesiro, one of the world's leading diamond traders. CEO Richard Shen surprises each actor with a personally designed gift to mark their presence at the Berlinale. Tesiro also donates the annual Shooting Star Award.
