Royd Tolkien's Tribute Documentary
There's A Hole In My Bucket To His Late
Adventurous And Sporty Brother Mike
Is Currently Filming In New Zealand

John Adams & Royd Tolkien

London based production and international sales company Evolutionary Films have announced that the emotive and powerful documentary There's A Hole In My Bucket about the deep love and connection of brothers, has commenced filming in New Zealand, directed by Robert Cavanah.

Royd Tolkien, great-grandson of J.R.R Tolkien, said: "This is more than just a bloke on a jolly doing crazy dares. It is the strength of two brothers' bond built while daring to face his mortality together against a very real ticking clock. The intensity of the emotion ahead is terrifying but there could be no better way to push through the fear and into courage than with his memory and the unbreakable connection of our love. My hope for this film is to ignite a passion for life we all should have raging within us and to inspire people to take absolutely nothing for granted."

Royd Tolkien lost his brother Mike to ALS (Motor Neuron Disease, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2015. Mike, who was the more adventurous and sporty of the two brothers, left behind a bucket list of 50 things he wants Royd to complete in his absence.

Evolutionary Films CEO John Adams said: "Having worked with Royd, Robert and producers James Fisher and John Hörnschemeyer before, we feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to handle the international distribution for this very personal and yet highly universal story that has such important and wide reaching impact. The Evolutionary Films team wishes the best of luck to the film unit as they embark upon this unexpected adventure worthy of the backdrop of the rich literary tapestry of the Tolkien legacy."

Royd arrived in New Zealand last week and has already embarked on the ultimate adventure of adrenalin and emotion to fulfill his brother's ambitions, to raise awareness of ALS, entertain the viewer, but most of all to encourage all of us to live for the moment, seize the day and not wait until it is too late to reach for our dreams.

There's A Hole In My Bucket is being produced by Sky Limit Films, Schubert International Film and Royd Tolkien Productions with Evolutionary Films handling international sales.
