Umedia Finances Iraq War Drama
Sand Castle Mark Gordon To Produce
Seb Edwards Makes Directorial Debut

Toby Kebbell and Nick Hoult
Headquartered in Brussels, Umedia, headed by CEO Adrian Politowski, will finance Sand Castle, and executive produce. The film is written by an Iraq war veteran based on the real events experienced by a platoon sent to repair an aqueduct in the dangerous and remote village of Baqubah, Iraq.

Nicholas Hoult and Toby Kebbell are set to star, with Mark Gordon producing and Seb Edwards, an award-winning commercials and shorts director, makes his feature directorial debut.

Commenting on the project, Adrian Politowski, CEO of Umedia, says: "Sand Castle is an amazing and gripping story transcending the genre into a powerful coming-of-age tale. Combining that quality with Mark Gordon producing, Seb directing and Nicolas Hoult starring, as well as our production partners working with the Umedia teams, this will yield an outstanding and important film."

The international sales arm of Umedia, headed by Peter Rogers based in London, is handling International sales. CAA arranged financing for the film, and is repping North American rights on behalf of the producer and filmmaker.

Sand Castle is set to shoot in October 2014 in South Africa and Italy.

During Cannes, contact Umedia at the new office address Villa Marina, 3 Square Merimee.
