height: 226px" /><br /> <span class="style5">Hitler And Girls</span></td> </tr> <tr> <td style="text-align: left" valign="top"> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial">Multi-talented Australian director, writer, producer and painter Philippe Mora is currently enjoying a resurgence of his work including a recent highly praised revival run of Mad Dog Morgan (1975) with Dennis Hopper at the ICA in London, the initiation of the Philippe Mora Collection at the National Archives of the United States, and the inclusion of Swastika (1973) in the Biberach Film Festival in Germany in October (2009) followed by Swastika screenings in Berlin and London. German director and documentarian Ilona Ziok spearheaded the effort to get Swastika premiered at the Biberach Film Festival.<br /> <br /> Swastika created great controversy when it was first produced and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where the screening had to be stopped when audience members began fighting. In TIME in 1973, Robert Hughes wrote re Swastika: &quot;Only if Hitler is anchored in human reality will he stay dead. If not, he will continue as he has from 1945: a nightmare of history from which we cannot awake.&quot; In the Washington Post in 1974, Kenneth Turan wrote: &quot;In reality, Swastika, though perhaps difficult to take, is the most potent of anti-Nazi films, simply because it shows us what people seem to be intent on forgetting, a lesson that cannot be learned too often: that Adolf Hitler and friends were not devils or robot clones, but everyday, even banal folks who in their at-ease moments are indistinguishable from the rest of us. Which would make what they did just that much more obscene.&quot;<br /> <br /> It s an historical moment in Germany s cinematic history that the film is accepted at this moment in time to be screened at the Biberach Film Festival. Philippe Mora and producer Sandy Lieberson will attend and a Q &amp; A with Lutz Becker will follow the German screening. Shortly after, the film will show at BFI Southbank cinema and a Q&amp;A will be held with Lord Puttnam, Mora, Lieberson and Becker. The London event triggers the first UK release of the film on DVD.<br /> <br /> Complementing this recognition and achievement, in April of 2009 the National Archives of the United States, instituted the Philippe Mora Collection at the National Archives of the United States. Philippe Mora said,  Ever since I made Brother Can You Spare A Dime, a film about FDR and America in the 30&#39;s, combined with my knowledge of the U.S&#39;s role in the defeat of Hitler&#39;s genocidal Nazi Germany and the Axis powers, including stopping the Japanese military with the Aussie Armed Forces from taking Australia in 1942, I have a substantial place in my heart for the United States. So it makes me proud personally to have contributed in some small way to the National Archives. <br /> <br /> Philippe Mora is recently collaborating with producer and manager Barry Krost to create stage productions including musicals based on the lives of surrealist master Salvador Dali and playwright Brendan Behan.<br /> <br /> Mora has just completed his comedy The Gertrude Stein Mystery, including footage shot in 70MM. His current projects also include a 3D thriller titled The Remote Viewer, a biopic called Dali, a television series called Flying Saucers, a documentary collaboration with Ilona Ziok, Propaganda, and a graphic adaptation titled Secrets: America Declassified.<br /> <br /> A museum-collected painter, Mora had a retrospective of his paintings open in London by Eric Clapton late last year.
