Collectively, eight major Japanese broadcasters have officially put into effect their joint international promotional project, titled Treasure Box Japan, with support from the Japanese government, to be unveiled today during MIPformats (from 12:20 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. Auditorium A Palais des Festivals).
The Japanese Broadcasters in the consortium, Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV), TV Asahi Corporation (TV Asahi), Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. (TBS), TV Tokyo Corporation (TV Tokyo), Fuji Television Network, Inc. (Fuji TV), Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation (YTV), continue their efforts started at MIPCOM last year to strengthen their efforts to sell homegrown formats overseas. For decades, Japan has inspired some of the world's most famous TV formats with its unique creativity and innovation.
Treasure Box Japan marks the first joint effort between the Japanese broadcasting industry and the Japanese Government to promote the country's wealth of intellectual properties internationally.

Santa Barbara-based Foothill Entertainment attends MIPTV with a further slew of pre-sales and pre-production underway for the groundbreaking animation series, Boy and the Dinosaur™, which was the 3rd most viewed show at MIPJunior last year. Foothill is looking to cement final pre-sales in the wake of a 360-degree advertising and marketing campaign for the series, culminating at MIPTV. "What began as a short student film that premiered at MIPJunior several years ago has blossomed into something incredible," says Jo Kavanagh-Payne, President of Foothill. "The series has been painstakingly developed by 1461 Limited and its brilliant creative and production team, and we are proud to be part of its growth." Boy and The Dinosaur is written, animated, composed and produced by a multi-BAFTA award-winning UK team, including director Paul Couvela (Bob the Builder, Chuggington), producer David Bunting (Shaun the Sheep, The Tigger Movie) and writer Davey Moore (Octanauts, Thomas & Friends, Rastamouse), and produced by 1461 Limited, and animation house, Studio Liddell.

As the television industry gathers for the 50th anniversary of MIPTV in Cannes, 41 Entertainment ("41e") license holders of PAC-MAN, the 1970's Animation brand, have concluded a slew of broadcast, licensing, and merchandising deals around the globe.
In Russia, the Free TV rights have gone to CTC Network for PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures in Russia. The TV series (26 x 22') is slated to begin broadcast in late 2013 or early 2014. Allen Bohbot, CEO of 41e states, "CTC is currently the leading entertainment channel with 95% penetration in Russia. We are thrilled that they have decided to join the growing list of high quality broadcasters in the PAC-MAN family." "We are very pleased to be working with strong broadcasters like CTC," adds Shin Unozawa, Chief Operating Officer at NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. Plus Licens' Moscow office has been appointed to handle all local licensing and merchandising activities in Russia.
In the US, the footwear license was granted to BBC International for the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures property. Robert Campbell, Managing Member and Chairman of BBC states: "We are excited about the opportunity to work together and bring PAC-MAN footwear to the marketplace."
In Australia, 41 Entertainment and its Australian agent, Gaffney Licensing, have granted the textile license (Manchester, including bed linen, pillows, blankets, throws, floor rugs, decorative bedding lines, cushions and cushion covers, beach towels, towels, table linen) to Legend Holdings for Australia and New Zealand for the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures property. Fred Gaffney, Partner, Gaffney, commented: "We are delighted to be working with Legend on this exciting license and to develop a full line of Manchester for Australia and New Zealand. The iconic characters of PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures lend themselves to a wonderful home experience."
In Spain, 41 Entertainment have granted the Free TV rights to RTVE/Clan TV and the Pay TV rights to Canal Panda for the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures property. The TV series (26 x 22') is slated to begin broadcast in summer 2013 on Canal Panda and January 2014 on Clan.
In France, 41 Entertainment have granted the apparel license (Children's and Adult Nightwear/Loungewear, Underwear, Leisurewear, Outerwear, Swimwear and Accessories) to Sun City for France, including French-speaking Belgium and Monaco for the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures property.
41e has already granted a U.S. license for the apparel category to Hybrid, a Canadian license to JCORP, a U.K. license to Blues Clothing and an Italian license to Italian Brands. Sandy Cosimi, Licensing & Marketing Manager at Sun City states, "Sun City has been a key player in the world of fashion in France for nearly 25 years, and we have big plans for a PAC-MAN collection. The character really lends itself to all forms of apparel, and we are pleased to have this license."

Paris and Los Angles based Moonscoop prior to MIPTV concluded a broadcast deal for the children's show, Chloe's Closet (Season One & Two) to air on Channel 5's pre-school strand, Milkshake! in Spring 2013.
Season Two of Chloe's Closet, comprised of 52 x11' new episodes, launches at MIP TV, and Lionel Marty, President of Worldwide Distribution at Moonscoop comments: "As one of the most popular UK platforms for children's programming, we are thrilled to join the Channel 5 – Milkshake! Family."
Jessica Symons, Head of Children's at Channel 5 comments: "I'm delighted to welcome Chloe's Closet to Milkshake! I'm sure our Milkshake! viewers will adore Chloe, and be captivated by her charming, fantastical adventures."
Chloe's Closet has established itself as a global hit in more than 100 countries, the broadcast partners for the first series include: Sprout, KiKa, France 5, Disney Junior in Asia and Australia, EBS, Truevisions, Okto, Cartoonito in UK and Italy, MBC3, ATV, MTV3, and Hop.
The success of the first series of Chloe's Closet led to the recent launch of a toy line by Golden Bear, the licensee for toys in the UK. Cartoon Network Enterprises is Moonscoop's exclusive licensing and merchandising agent of the Chloe's Closet brand in the UK.
Chloe's Closet is produced by Moonscoop Entertainment, LLC, Workout Factory B.V., Ki.Ka, Telegael Teoranta, Wales Creative IP Fund, (Season One), Vision Animation Sdh Bhd (Season Two), and Minika (Season Two). Seasons One & Two of Chloe's Closet are each comprised of 52x13' episodes and produced in high Definition 2D Flash and CGI animation.

Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media, is at MIPTV with eight new formats, which span genres including: dating, adventure and reality, game shows and studio-based entertainment, lifestyle and human interest.
