MIPCOM Continues The Presence Of International
Stars Of The Small & Big Screen At It's 2013 Event

Andie MacDowell In Cedar Cove

MIPCOM is looking more like an international Film Festival gathering of stars from the small and big screens, and continuing to blur the line between multiple platforms and transmedia content. For the past two editions MIPCOM has been rolling out the red carpet for a host of star-studded actors, directors, writers, producers and show business personalities who attend its Red Carpet Opening Night party at the Carlton Hotel which occurs tonight from 7.30pm.

The Tunnel will open MIPCOM's first night. The new ten-part crime drama is commissioned by Sky Atlantic HD and CANAL+, distributed worldwide by Shine International and co-produced by Kudos.

The World Premiere TV Screening of The Tunnel will be followed by a Q&A on the Grand Auditorium stage with the production team and stars, including Clémence Poésy and BAFTA-winning actor Stephen Dillane together with Tom Bateman, Cédric Vieira and Sigrid Bouaziz. After the screening, they will walk the Red Carpet for the MIPCOM Opening Party.

With the global marketplace more and more becoming a gigantic international Screen, stars are flowing seamlessly between the big and small hardware devices, and making a daily impact on the consumer. Internationally acclaimed actress Andie MacDowell attends MIPCOM for Beta Film's Cedar Cove, Hallmark's new series in which she plays Judge Olivia Lockhart. MacDowell and her co-star Dylan Neal, who plays the dashing editor of the local newspaper, attended the Press conference this morning.

British actresses Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells will also be on the Cannes red carpet to promote the series they co-created, Doll & Em, which is produced by King Bee Productions for Sky Living HD and distributed by Sky Vision. The series tells the story of a British actress in Los Angeles who hires her London friend to be her personal assistant.

Others stars at MIPCOM today and over the next three days include Black Sails stars Toby Stephens, Hannah New, Luke Arnold, Zach McGowan, Clara Paget, and showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Steinberg. All are in Cannes today supporting the exclusive screening for global content buyers for Starz Distribution Worldwide.

Also at MIPCOM are Rachelle Lefevre and Dean Norris to promote Under the Dome, and French star Pierre Arditi from The Blood of the Vine, produced by TELECIP. British actor Jack Davenport is at MIPCOM to present ITV Studios' new six-part series Breathless along with co-star Zoe and show creator and writer Paul Unwin. All attended an exclusive screening of Breathless earlier in the day. Supermodel and businesswoman Naomi Campbell, in her role as Executive Producer and mentor on The Face, attends MIPCOM 2013 to promote the show for Shine America.

Actress Abbie Cornish attends MIPCOM to present Klondike, the mini-series for which eOne Television is handling international distribution. Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, Oona Chaplin, will present the BBC Drama produced series The Ark.

Adding political mix to the gathering of Red Carpet stars in Cannes, Meghan McCain will present the docu-talk series Raising McCain, which airs on Pivot USA and is distributed internationally by Tricon Films & Television.

About MIPCOM
MIPCOM is the global market for entertainment content across all platforms. Each autumn, the industry's international executives – from TV and film – converge in Cannes to create a new world of entertainment. MIPCOM turns every moment into an opportunity, transforming four days of meetings, screenings and conferences into deals – from blockbuster programming to groundbreaking partnerships. And the children's entertainment industry gets an early start at MIPJunior, where key international buyers, sellers and producers gather to present, discover and screen content at the world's showcase for kids programming.
